That One Time I Had My Photo Posted in Times Square

I never imaged that I would have my picture posted in Times Square, but yesterday, it became a reality! Artist JR received the TED Prize in March 2011 and decided to create a participatory art project to change the world. It is called INSIDE OUT. In his project, people use their personal portraits to make a statement on what they stand for, on a global platform. Each city is documented and exhibited online, as well as in the specific city.

At this time, the Inside Out Project is in New York City in Times Square. Yesterday, Steph and I made our way to the photo booth van, and after a long wait in line, our portraits were created! The wait was well worth it! We had our portraits pasted to the sidewalk in the heart of Times Square by the red stairs, alongside hundreds of other portraits. And for the entire month of May, our portraits will be among the hundreds scrolling on the big screen for the Midnight Moment in Times Square.

It feels great to have the opportunity to be a part of JR’s global project, what a success! This was definitely a Bucket List moment! CHECK!
